So have an interview for a front desk receptionist at a women"s gym next week, and was wondering how to dress? This for a part time weekend frond desk position, at a gym in sort of a hipster/yuppie area. I feel like dressing up in a full on suit would be a bit over top, but then again showing up in gym clothes I might come off as uninterested. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
You could make a call to another gym and ask one of their front desk receptionists for some quick advice.I would try to go more on the business casual side. A nice dress or some trousers/slacks and a nice blouse. Not too formal but at the same time not too casual.Business casual would be best. First appearances are everything.
Wear a suit >.> no one gets rejected for a suit, they do get rejected for dressing like a slobOr just wear leggings and sports bra?

I disagree about suits. Sadly, these days in certain industries, a suit wouldn"t be a good look for an interview. I would imagine most people working in a gym, to include the managers, do not even own suits. Wearing a suit there would be odd.OP, if you were a man I"d say wear clean, well pressed khakis and a polo shirt in a conservative color (if the weather is warmish). I have no clue what a woman should wear in this situation... women"s clothing is so much more complicated. Since it"s an upscale yuppie area though, whatever you choose should be well tailored.
Odd... and so what? Like I said, no one gets rejected because they wore a suit...You can always wear down a suit by taking off the jacket and unbuttoning some
I"m not sure that"s true. If it is true, it"s because nobody ever interviewed for a job at Burger King while wearing a suit.People get rejected for being a poor fit for the job and that certainly does include looking like you are used to better jobs than the one you"re interviewing for. It"s been a long time since I had an interview for a job that isn"t senior enough that I would wear a suit, but I certainly never wore one to interviews for jobs that weren"t in offices.
I wouldn"t wear a suit for a job at the gym, with the exception if you are interviewing for a managerial position. Business casual should be good.
