So ns was aiming to acquire an ultrawide, 21:9, 1440p, 144hz monitor. The product surname is "lg 34gk950f-b". The factor I desire it is to get a far better gaming experience.

You are watching: Dark souls 3 21:9 support

This monitor is much more expensive than a regular 1440p 144hz monitor, but is surely precious the extra money..... Or is it?

I to be doing part research about it, and I to be shocked to know that many games (like Overwatch or dark souls 3) don"t support 21:9, but most recently released games does support it.

The thing is, the only way to play gamings like Overwatch top top this monitor, is come play it as if her monitor is 16:9, leaving you with irritating black boundaries on the edges.

So ns came right here to questioning you, is it precious it to gain this monitor? Or have to I simply go with 16:9 instead?

But if you"re just worried around one or two gamings then maybe just don"t bother and save part cash

I play a most games, if gaming on the is much much better in gamings that assistance it (like CS:GO), then maybe I have the right to tolerate playing v black borders in gamings that don"t support it.

I"ve additionally only uncovered a pair of games that don"t accommodate the resolution, and also honestly? The black color bars aren"t noticeable once you"re playing. I"ve never understood world that complain about them. It"s no much different than simply having a continual monitor in former of you.

There"s part website ("Ultrawide gaming" or something) that has actually patches for a many of gamings to permit 21:9 resolutions.

Edit: there you go. They actually have actually this "hack" because that DS3. Granted it"s no as great as native 21:9 assistance but better than black bars
