Meeting with L. A. Verbiskaya, Rector of St. Petersburg State University

On May 13 the Russian delegation met with L. A. Verbiskaya, the Rector of SpbSU.

During this meeting, issues in education were discussed, both worldwide and in Russia. The Bologna Process was touched upon, as well as the need for foreign student exchange programs to enable Russian students to study abroad. Other topics mentioned were the differences between Russian and foreign universities, the differences between Russian institutions of higher education in different cities, and the necessity to develop a unified system for evaluating higher education.

In addition, those taking part in this meeting talked about the Unified State Examination and the personnel situation in the Russian scientific-educational sphere. The group agreed to meet again after the summit.
