The Competition Committee of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and St. Petersburg State University (SPBGU) has made the final determination as to who will represent the Russian Federation at the J8 Summit.  This summit will take place in July 2009 in Italy concurrently with the G8 Summit.

St. Petersburg State University Begins To Prepare the Russian Delegation For the 2009 J8 Summit

On April 20, 2009, senior high school students from the Southern Federal District of the Russian Federation, who will represent Russia at the J8 Summit in Italy in July 2009, arrived in St. Petersburg to take part in an intensive week of training.  Members of previous Russian J8 delegations (2006, 2007, and 2008), who are currently students at St. Petersburg State University or at Moscow State University, will also play an active role in preparing the 2009 delegation.

Dubinnikov Discusses the Social Responsibility of Business with the Russian Junior 8 Summit Delegation

On May 9 I. V. Dubinnikov, the Administrative Director of the company “Power Machines,” met with the Russian delegation on the Victory Day holiday and discussed how business and society can work together.

All of the teens very actively participated in discussing this very interesting topic. In the course of the conversation there were questions, examples, plans, ideas, amazement, delight, sadness, confusion, and understanding.

The Russian Delegation is already Working as a Team

Saint Petersburg State University is carrying out a pre-summit training program for the high school students who have been chosen to represent Russia at the Junior 8 Summit.

On May 8-9, 2007, these future representatives of Russia continued their summit training.

The Russian Junior 8 Delegation Prepares for the Summit- Day One

St. Petersburg State University (SpbSU) has begun pre-summit training for the teens who are members of the Russian Delegation to the Junior 8 Summit.

On May 7, 2007, the high school students who will be representing Russia at the Junior 8 Summit began their pre-summit training activities.

Russian Delegation Formed

A commission, consisting of representatives from St. Petersburg State University (SpbSU), the Russian Ministry of Education, and the St. Petersburg City Government, has chosen the winners of the competition for high school students titled “The World through the Eyes of Youth.”

The above competition, organized to select the Russian delegation to the 2007 Junior 8 Summit, took place in April, 2007 in the North West Federal District (NWFD) of Russia. The organizers of this competition intend to annually select members of the Russian delegation from a single federal district (when the G8 Summit does not take place in Russia).
