The New Russian J8 Team is Prepared to Participate in the Summit

Representatives from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, St. Petersburg State University, and the Young People’s Movement  Junior 8 conducted a training session for the J8 Russian delegation to the J8 Summit which will take place in June 2010 in Canada in parallel with the G8 Summit.

Winners of the 2010 Russian Junior 8 Competition Are Announced in Krasnoyarsk

This year more than 800 senior high school students from the Siberian Federal District took part in the competition.  During the second round of the contest, held on February 21-27 in Krasnoyarsk, there were 80 participants.  From this group, 8 students were named as the final winners.

Summing Up the 2009 J8 Summit

On July 13, 2009, the Russian J8 Delegation returned from Rome, after participating in the J8 Summit from July 4-12, which took place concurrently with the G8 Summit.

The Russian delegation to the J8 Summit, which is now taking place in the capital of Italy, unanimously selected Angelika Isaeva as their representative to the meeting with the G8 leaders.

Teams of young people aged 14 to 17 arrived in Rome to participate in the young people's summit (J8) to be held in parallel to the G8 summit in L'Aquila.

The Competition Committee of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and St. Petersburg State University (SPBGU) has made the final determination as to who will represent the Russian Federation at the J8 Summit.  This summit will take place in July 2009 in Italy concurrently with the G8 Summit.

St. Petersburg State University Begins To Prepare the Russian Delegation For the 2009 J8 Summit

On April 20, 2009, senior high school students from the Southern Federal District of the Russian Federation, who will represent Russia at the J8 Summit in Italy in July 2009, arrived in St. Petersburg to take part in an intensive week of training.  Members of previous Russian J8 delegations (2006, 2007, and 2008), who are currently students at St. Petersburg State University or at Moscow State University, will also play an active role in preparing the 2009 delegation.
